Digital Economy in the Heads of the Valleys (DEHOV) – A Work-Based Learning Project
The Digital Economy in the Heads of the Valleys (DEHOV) is a collaboration between the University of Wales Newport and the University of Glamorgan operating under the UHOVI banner. DEHOV offers Higher Education accredited modules at first and second year degree level, in order to recognise and develop a variety of workforces associated with the digital economy. DEHOV curriculum aims to up-skill employers and employees to fully engage with a digital economy and modules are clustered to meet the needs of workers engaged in different roles, i.e Managerial, Technical, Administrative and Workforce Development. A flexible approach to the Projects design means that module delivery can be tailored to suit employers and learners. That is, according to expressed need, modules can be delivered in a block over a number of days or in two/three hourly sessions over a number of weeks.
DEHOV curriculum is offered across the Heads of the Valleys region in community and work-based venues in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Torfaen. Our team within the Centre for Lifelong learning concentrates on the Merthyr and Rhondda Cynon Taf area.
And, because DEHOV has been made possible by the EU’s Convergence European Social Fund (ESF) through the Welsh Government, private sector employers/employees living and/or working in West Wales and the Valleys may be entitled to fully or partly funded training.
If you are interested in finding out more about the training opportunities available to you, the DEHOV team can be contacted at the address listed below, or you can download a copy of the DEHOV brochure here.
